Finding The Right Business For You

April 20th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Marketing

If you think that starting your own business is the answer to your problems; whether it’s money, child care, illness or a desire for more free time, then you MUST choose wisely.

Too many individuals eagerly leave their paying jobs in order to pursue their own business only to return to the unemployment arena looking for work and carrying a massive debt from their ventures.

How can you find the answer to your quest for self-employment without failing?

DESIRE —-

If you think that running your own business is merely a matter of using your brains then you are sure to be disappointed. Successful entrepreneurs have a common thread no matter if they run the run a country gas station or a Fortune 500 company – DESIRE. If you don’t have the drive and determination to work for yourself – if you can’t give up the security of a regular pay cheque – you will have great difficulty working for yourself.

DISCRETION —-

Expect to fail. There are many opportunities available. Some are good, some are frauds and several are absolutely perfect – for YOU. Each individual’s strengths and talents will impact which business model will suit them best. If you are very shy or hate to talk to people than it would be wise to stay away from businesses that require a lot of face-to-face selling. If the product is not something you would personally use it is not something you will want to promote and that will show in your efforts.

Take stock of your abilities and interests and try several businesses that are related. Not all will suit you, but trying things will ultimately improve your business skills overall. If you do fall for what turns out to be a fraud, consider it education and move on – you will not likely make the same mistake again.

Consider talking to business owners who do what you want to do or to people who may use your product or service. Research the business and read the fine print!

DISCIPLINE —-

You don’t have a boss or a time clock, but if you expect to make a living then you will have to discipline yourself. Have a schedule that you follow every day. Plan your time wisely. Although many procrastinators actually do well working for themselves it is still vitally important to know what needs to be done and to have the discipline to follow through. A few bad jobs or unhappy customers can have lasting impact on your business.

Many have found great happiness and success working for themselves. Enjoy the search and find YOUR perfect business!

How to Get More Done as an Internet Marketer

November 21st, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Affiliate Marketing

Are you new to internet marketing? If so, you may want to improve your time management. So, how can you do so?

Realize that time is money. Time is money is a common phrase that you may hear all the time; however, it is very important to an internet marketer, such as yourself. Why? Because your ability to manage your time and market a website, product, service, or blog will have a direct impact on your income generated. For example, do you sell products on your website? The more traffic you generate with marketing, the more sales you will receive.

Do not let your computer be a distraction. As you can gather, internet marketing involves using the internet. Yes, it is your job to use the internet, but you must use it properly. Unfortunately, distractions are common when using a computer. For starters, computers come preloaded with games. There is also the internet factor. These are many interesting websites online, as well as fun instant messaging programs. Enjoy these things in your free time, but not during work hours.

Eliminate your distractions. As previously stated, playing games on a computer or using instant messaging programs can be a huge source of distraction. For starters, do not use them. If your willpower to stay away isnt strong enough, disable these programs or entirely delete them from your computer.

Since most internet marketers also work from home, it is important to eliminate distractions in the home. When not working, do housework to have a clean and professional workspace the next day. Do not watch television or answer the phone when working. These tasks will disrupt your work, hindering your ability to market and make money.

Research. Unfortunately, many new internet marketers make the mistake of believing that research is a distraction or a waste of time. It isnt. As an internet marketer, you need to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings online. If you dont, you may miss out on the hottest, way to market a product or service online. So, research. With that said, make sure research is all you do online. If you visit an internet marketing forum, ask questions if you need help, but avoid socializing or personal conversations.

Brainstorm and create a plan. Whether you are a new internet marketer or an experienced one, you should already have marketing ideas running around in your head. This is good, but what should you do with those ideas? Brainstorm and create a plan. A good example involves taking your ideas, prioritizing them, and creating a daily to-do list or schedule. For example, your first task could include updating a blog with a link to your website. Task number two could include choosing a product to give away in a marketing contest, and so forth.

Execute the above mentioned plan. Once you have a list of internet marketing tasks to complete, get to work. Remember, it is important to stay focus and on task. Work on crossing items off your to-do list. Avoid distractions, such as surfing the internet, checking your personal email account, or watching the television in the background. By focusing only on your list of things to do, you can get more things done as an internet marketer.

Outsource when you fall behind. Whether you fell behind due to poor time management or if you just have too many tasks to complete and not enough hours, seek help. That help can come from a qualified outsourcer. Who you hire will depend on the task you need completed. Do you want to design a banner for a link exchange? Hire a graphic or web designer. Do you want to write articles for article directory submissions? If so, hire a freelance writer.

In short, there are many ways for you to get more done as an internet marketer. The best way to see success, which should include extra income, is to work on your time management skills. Do you see a problem or distraction? Eliminate it as an issue and focus solely on the tasks at hand.

How to bring traffic to your site

February 23rd, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Marketing

Swap “thank you” page ads with other ezine publishers.

Promote other ezines on the page in which your new subscribers are taken to, after filling out a form or subscription box to join your ezine, in exchange for those publishers promoting your ezine on their “thank you” pages.

In addition to swapping ads on this page, you can also swap recommendations with other ezine publishers to get even more powerful promotion from your “thank you” page swaps.

This way, you are listed in so many more ezines and newsletters, promoting your site more and letting people know that your site exists. With more people having the chance to see the site name, the traffic of your site may increase with the heightened awareness of your site.

You unexpectedly find yourself with a few moments of free time say five minutes – until your next meeting. Youve already checked your morning e-mail messages. For the moment, the phone isnt ringing. So, looking for a task you can complete quickly, you reach for your things-to-do pile.

There you find a note about a thank-you letter that needs to be written. Good, you think. I can whip that off in two minutes, then get to my meeting on time.

Ten minutes later youre still tinkering with the same three sentences, youre not satisfied with what you have written, and youre late for your meeting. Who would have thought that writing a simple thank-you letter would be so difficult?

If you have experienced something like this, you are one of countless people to discover the thank-you-letter-writers dilemma: A simple thank you can sound insincere if its too brief and a longer letter can sound equally insincere if its padded with empty-sounding generalities.

Begin with a thank you.

A straightforward Thank you very much for . . . or I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for . . . works fine. When you want to underscore your role as representative of a group or organization, On behalf of . . . works well. For a more creative approach, open with an indirect compliment, such as Something good always happens whenever youre in town.

Refer specifically to what the reader has done for you.
The key to making your reader feel genuinely appreciated is to go beyond generalities and offer specific detail. When thanking a fellow writer, for example, rather than simply write Your work was truly first rate, explain what it was about the publication you found valuable: Your comments on quality were especially useful. In fact, one of our team leaders has distributed a summary of your unique approach.

Link the readers contribution to a broader mission or goal.
An effective way to expand your letter without sounding insincere (Your presentation was the best Ive ever heard) is to acknowledge the importance of the readers contribution in a broader context (Your three-step approach will help us prepare for our annual audit.)

Thank-You Letter Tips:
Write clearly and concisely; this is no time to be longwinded or flowery. Be sincere–most people can sense when you aren’t being honest. Stick to the point.

Write the thank-you letter as soon as possible after the event. However, do not thank the person beforehand (for example, “Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.”) To do so is presumptuous and suggests you are unwilling to write a follow-up letter.

Proofread the letter before sending it: grammatical errors and typos are sloppy and unprofessional. You dont want to look stupid in writing your letter; there are a lot of error and grammar-checking tools online which you can use to smoothen those unwanted mistakes.

Be specific and include details from the event. Make your letter stand out; don’t send a generic letter that could be to or from anyone. Address your letter to a specific person, if possible, not just the company or organization in general.

Conclude with Thanks again and a goodwill message.
Repeat your appreciation for your readers contribution and stress the importance of your relationship. This is your opportunity to say, in effect, I appreciate your gifts and talents and I value our relationship.

More exposure means more traffic

This is an easy trick to make more money flow into your business. Writing letters are not that difficult. Having the ezine writers refer to you or to your site is a nice way to have more customers visit your site and to make revenues in no time while having a good healthy win-win situation between you and other ezine writers.

Thank you page ads make people flock to see how well you are doing. Being thanked back is rewarding as people will likely boost your reputation further by referring you to their friends. You will enjoy the fruits of your labor by an increase in your website traffic.
