Advanced Internet Marketing

Posted by on Oct.17, 2012, under Affiliate Marketing, Affiliate Programs No Comments

Most people, who aren’t internet marketers, don’t fully understand what internet marketing really is all about. At it’s core, internet marketing is just a way to use the vast potential of the internet to find more customers. There are many things you will want to learn when you start marketing online and that is where advanced internet marketing training comes in.

Obviously, before you worry about advanced internet marketing you need to make sure you have a firm grasp of the basics. With so many methods to connect with others online you must know what works, and what doesn’t.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that things online change quickly. What worked great yesterday, or last year, either might not work as well or they might not work at all.

A big part of the reason for this is that the search engines are continually updating their programming (their algorithms) in the hopes of improving the experiences of their searchers.

These changes can, and sometimes do, have a dramatic impact on the websites online. It is important that you stay current with these changes.

More than one internet marketer has gone to bed with a website that was doing really well:ranked high and getting a lot of traffic, only to wake up the next morning and find their once first page site is now on page 117 of the results.

Of course there are ways to avoid that and the best method is to update your site frequently (this is why a lot of internet marketers prefer a WordPress blog style website. It is easy to update) and provide your website visitors with a lot of quality.

The search engines are getting better at being able to detect quality content on a website. They will reward that site by giving it a high placement on the results page.

Here are a few of the internet marketing strategies you will want to implement. Some of these are more about getting traffic to your website, others are more about converting that traffic into paying customers. But they are all necessary:

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – if you want your website ranked highly, you have to let the search engines know what your site is about. Using simple SEO strategies on your site can help you get more free, targeted traffic.

2. Pay Per Click (PPC) – this advanced technique of getting traffic can work quickly but only after you learn how to do it. There is a learning curve and it will cost you if you make mistakes.

3. Email Marketing: this is more about “bonding” with your website visitors and building trust with them than actually driving traffic. Online it can be hard to stand out from the crowd and let people “get to know you” or trust you. By having a chance to send them emails over a period of time you can build rapport with them.

Learning some basic and advanced internet marketing skills can help you turn your business into a very profitable endeavor. It doesn’t matter if you have an offline business or an online business, learning new skills can help you make more money.

The Pros And Cons Of Forum Marketing You Should Be

The Pros And Cons Of Forum Marketing You Should Be Aware Of

There are several different ways that people use to make money online. One that a lot of people use successfully is forum marketing. Using this method gives you as an internet marketer a way to connect with the people who are likely to be the most interested in your offer. That’s the promise, anyway; however, just like any other online business method, there are some pros and cons that you should be aware of.

PRO: Discover the wants and needs of your market. Forums are places where people with the same interests meet to exchange ideas. This is done through posting in the forum. You can use this to your advantage. Why? Because you will see exactly what problems people are having…and then you can offer a viable solution. You will find out what has them excited right now, what they’re buzzing about…and you can make a product that feeds into that buzz. You need to pay attention, but if you do it right it can pay off in a big way.

PRO: Interacting with your target market. Forum marketing isn’t simply posting your offer every chance you get. Instead, you need to interact with members of the forum and become a contributing member of the community. In fact, a lot of forums have strict rules about marketing, so you need to make sure you understand and follow them. Either way, the ability to interact directly with your market is a definite plus.

PRO: Achieving expert status. As you interact in the forum, people will start to develop opinions of you. Now, you shouldnt go in trying please everybody because that’s not the point. However, if you are able to demonstrate your knowledge, and are an active member then you just may achieve expert status. You can’t over-estimate how important doing this can be; it can virtually guarantee sales every time you have something new to offer.

CON: It takes time. As you may have figured out, forum marketing isn’t the kind of thing you can do overnight. It will take an investment of time to do it right, but the good news is that the payoff for that investment can be huge. Don’t rush into it and pay attention to how people behave on the forum.

CON: Becoming accepted isn’t as easy as some people would like you to believe. The one variable that is always present on any forum is people. You can never be entirely sure how they will react to you, and they may test all newcomers to make sure they share the same interests. If you are there for the long haul, then stick it out and you will be the better for it.

Of course, those few cons are easy to get around with a bit of time and the right attitude. Don’t let them stop you from forum marketing because it not only works, but works really well. You can discover the wants and needs of your market, interact with them, and may even become a recognized expert in the process.

Internal Link Building-Three Tips For Boosting Your Business

Posted by on Aug.25, 2012, under Affiliate Marketing No Comments

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most important skills that any Internet marketer can develop. After all, you want people to be able to find your website when they’re performing a search of their favorite search engine. By learning how to do SCO you increase your chances that they will find your site instead of one of your competitors. One of the ways to boost your ranking is through internal link building. Be careful though because there is a lot of misinformation about how to go about it the right way.

When it comes to internal link building you need to make sure that you take care of three things: in-context linking, site navigation and anchor text.

1. In-context linking. These are the links that are found in within the main body of your website. Typically, these will be embedded directly in the words on your page, in context. In other words, as people are reading your site they may notice that they can click on the various words or phrases. To the visitor it seems quite seamless, but in reality you have planned it out to get the best results from the placement of your internal link building. What the visitor will be clicking on, in their mind, are relevant words and they will be seeking out additional information. But you are setting it up so that those words are the keywords you are trying to rank for, and they will go to where you want them to go.

2. Site navigation. In its simplest terms most people think of site navigation is how they get from one page to another. So, they see a back arrow or a link to the homepage and it helps them move around your site. While that is true, and it is very important to have good navigation, we are more concerned with building links for SEO purposes. Search engines typically like to see at least some basic pages on every site; the homepage, contact information, a privacy statement, and other basic pages should all be linked to each other from every page on your site.

3. Anchor text. This is the text that appears instead of the link where people will be going. For example, a visitor to your site may see the words “click here”, but what they’re really clicking on is a link. Now, if you are trying to rank for the phrase “click here” then that’s fine, but chances are you’re trying to rank for a different keyword. So, never waste a link by using generic anchor text when doing internal link building. Let’s say you have a site on painting houses; you could have the phrase “click here to get a house painting quote”, but only the words “house painting quote” would have the link underneath them. The idea is that you’re trying to rank for the words house painting quote, so having those links will alert the search engines to pay more attention to that text.

Internet Marketing Search Engine Optimization – Job One

Posted by on Jan.25, 2012, under Affiliate Marketing No Comments

Internet marketing search engine optimization is likely something you’ve heard a lot about, whether you are an experienced internet marketer or a complete beginner.

Getting traffic is job one for all online businesses in order to be successful. Most internet marketers will utilize a variety of methods to drive a lot of highly qualified traffic to their sites.

There are many effective ways to go about doing this, many of them are free. One of the best free methods is by using the search engines and getting your visitors for free. This is done by optimizing your website with the right keywords.

“The right keywords” are those that get a lot of monthly searches, have relatively little competition and are very relevant to the content of your website. Incorporating those keywords into your onsite seo efforts as well as offsite efforts (such as articles) can really grab the attention of the search engines.

There are many factors that search engines consider when determining the proper search returns. Since this complicated, and evolving, algorithm is top secret, many simply guess what the search engines are really looking for.

Since this traffic generation method can be very complicated and convoluted, many people just hire an seo company to take care of it for them.

This might be a good option for you too, if you have the money. There are a lot of companies out there that are fairly reasonably priced and geared more to small and mid sized businesses. You may just find that you can afford it.

If you can’t afford it, you don’t have to miss out on this opportunity to benefit from seo for your website. Some simple things can really help you ramp up your traffic.

You can also benefit from using seo for off site promotion as well. Optimizing your articles with very targeted keywords that can help you drive traffic to your site is an extremely effective method, and you can do it all yourself if you need to.

As you’ve probably figured out by now, the crux of all of this is to have a detailed keyword list. You want to find as many good keywords as possible. Don’t think that this process has to be the arduous process it may seem, there are many software products that can help you build a very long and targeted keyword list with just a few clicks.

There is even a free keyword tool that Google provides that you can use. If you prefer, there are many great keyword tools online that you can purchase that will do more than help you formulate a list. They can let you know how likely anyone searching those keywords is to buy along with a lot of vital data.

Internet marketing search engine optimization can make it possible for you to drive consistent, and highly targeted, traffic to your website for free. Of course, you never get something for nothing so even though you don’t have to pay for this traffic, you do need to hire someone to do it for you or learn to do it yourself. Think of it as sweat equity.

Keyword Internet Marketing Tool

Posted by on Jan.06, 2012, under Affiliate Marketing, Affiliate Programs No Comments

As an internet marketer you will use various methods for driving a lot of targeted traffic to your site on a regular basis. All of these strategies have one thing in common: they all rely on choosing the right keywords. Choosing the wrong keywords will either result in few visitors or untargeted visitors, either way it will be a waste of your time. You can use a quality keyword internet marketing tool to help automate the process.

Keyword research, even with the aid of software, can be a little tricky and a little tedious. It’s important that you find just the right balance between the number of searches a keyword phrase gets, how relevant it is to your site and how many other marketers are competing for that same keyword.

If you get a keyword that has a lot of searches but also has a lot of competition, you won’t rank for it and it will be as waste of time and maybe money. If you choose a keyword that doesn’t have a lot of competition but also doesn’t get very many searches, it won’t do you much good either. And, if you choose a keyword that is not relevant to your niche you will disappoint anyone who does get to your site.

So, what is the best balance for your keywords? Well, to a degree that will be determined by your niche. There is some flexibility in some of these parameters and you will need to do some trial and error to find out what works best for you.

Until you have the chance to find out what the best balance of monthly searches and competition is, start with this guideline: monthly searches at least 1,500 and competition no more than 20,000.

As you go along you will monitor your traffic and the performance of each of the keywords you are using and you will be able to determine what, if any, changes you need to make to those parameters.

When you are firing up your keyword internet marketing tool to find a list of keywords, don’t forget that other people may not use the same search terms you would use. Make sure you consider the phrases that are used to search for your niche, not just the phrases you would use.

It doesn’t matter if you choose to invest in a keyword tool software program or use one of the many free versions online when you are first starting out, they will all give you good basic keywords.

But, as you get a little further along in your career, and have some money, investing in a paid program will provide you with a lot more information on each keyword which can ultimately allow you to build a more profitable keyword list.

Keywords are the lifeblood of your business. The better you get at choosing the best keywords for your niche, the more traffic you will get and the more money you will make. Simplify your life somewhat by investing in a quality keyword software program. This keyword internet marketing tool can make your keyword research go much quicker.
